It’s not surprising that staying in Italy you will find at least one piece by Alessi in the Italian kitchen. According the famous designer Philip Stark words (“ALESSI est un merchand de bonheure”) Alessi is a happiness seller.

Alessi was founded in 1920 in Crusinallo in Piedmont region among the Romance churches and baroque chapel along Lake Orta. It kept producing brass plates for some 50 years. But then this laboratory turned into one of the most advanced factories in Italy or according to Alberto Alessi words it has become “a laboratory that researches the applied arts field”. Alessi is a real Guru, theoretic and a design advocate among conservative and traditional trends.

Alessi lamps producing put the beginning of the art revolution and now Alessi Company is considered to be elite of the Italian design. The first Alessi era product was the espresso coffee machine by Richard Sapper. It was created in 1979 and became a tribute of Alfonso Bialetti that invented new coffee cooking process. Alessi kitchen dish line «La cintura di Orione» (“The belt of Orion” by Richard Sapper) was also developed according to the famous French and Italian cooks ideas.

Besides Alessi lamps that impress lots of people all over the world the company is famous for its everyday stuff design. Let’s take the simplest one.
