A hall is a kind of boundary between the noisy bustle of the street with one hand and the comfort of home warmth – on the other. In the hall the guests get a first impression of the house and its inhabitants. It is therefore essential to create an atmosphere that will be appreciated by those who is coming in. Rightly selected lighting can help you in this by emphasizing the advantages of the space or by hiding its flaws.

The lack of the day light in the hallway is one of its feature. Thus, regardless of time of a day, entrance requires artificial light. The way and intensity of lighting should be selected taking in consideration the features of your hallway.

Flaws of the space can be hidden by not very bright, but elegant light. Nonetheless, the light should not be too dull; it is negatively affects the psychological comfort. The best option in this case is the diffused light. The positive effect is achieved either through opaque tubes, either by aiming ceiling lamps at the ceiling: the space will be illuminated by the light reflected from the ceiling, sharply defined shadows will vanish.

If you have a narrow hallway with high ceiling it’s better to highlight the walls by wall-lamps. The ceiling will remain in the “shadow” and cease to affect the perception of space.

If you have normal ceiling height or below the desired you need to illuminate it. You can arrange a special ledge around the perimeter of the hall near the ceiling, which consolidate a number of pointed lights.

A vestibule of geometrically complex shapes, in the form of a polygon, for example, would be appropriate to divide into the light zones. Illuminated from different angles and by different sources of light curves and crannies become interesting decorative islands on the way into the depth of living space.

In general, it makes sense to equip a hallway with additional local lighting. Thus, special attention should be paid to highlighting the mirror. The flow of light must not create shadows on the figure and face of a man who is standing in front of a mirror. You should either install the lights on the two edges of the mirror, or one – in the center above it.

In the hallway you can install sensors that react to movement. But only in the absence of domestic animals, which can make your hallway to flash every five minutes.

Such factory as Vetreria Artistica Busato is capable to amaze with their production even the tempted judge of murano glass. The factory has been based rather recently – in 1994 by the master from the island Murano Gino Busato. But the master Gino Busato by the time of the foundation of Vetreria Artistica Busato has given 60 years to work with murano glass.

By the opening of the brand he had stored the richest experience of work with the most difficult traditional secrets of glass blowers. And mainly this experience has allowed the factory, that is headed firstly by Gino Busato and then by his son Marco Busato, in short terms to develop the great manufacture of unique lamps and chandeliers from murano glass, sconces, table lamps, vases and sculptures, – all the decorative assortment which can be made from murano glass.

The unique feature of the factory is the great saturation of colours, skillfulness of work with glass of all different forms and colours that are united in one lamp. The lamps by Busato is that rare case, when even in the most high-quality colourful catalogue the colours are not so amazing that are in reality.

The factory declares that due to the manual production only, it is ready to made any lamp the client will like to have. For the same reason each lamp that is produced by this factory that is even bought in shop is absolutely unique – you will never find the same colours and forms. Each of the lamps even if it is the same model, will be the unique creative act of masters of murano glass.

Today we will talk about some new and really great lamps that are produced by such famous factory as Lampe. These lamps, that we are going to see today are from the collection LuceCrea Class. This collection of lamps unites the most interesting and prestigious lamps of the highest quality, that are made only from the best materials at factory Lampe.

For example, if in the production of lamps from the collection LuceCrea Class crystals are used – it will be Swarovski without any doubts.

The most original of new lamps is the ceiling lamp 380134. Its base represents a picture in the solid baguette, that is decorated with the help of crystals by Swarovski. From the center of the base some the flexible metal tubes that are covered with gold of 24 carats go down. These tubes have bulbs on the end, that are covered with bent sheet-reflector, that is amazingly engraved by the means of the laser. The lamp combines the limiting functionality and grace. Thanks to flexibility of the metal tubes, you can direct the light to any side, thanks to sliding fastening of the sheet you can make so that the light will shine only in necessary direction. Well and aesthetic advantages of the lamp, that organically combine modern elements, classical accents and grace, do not require the special description.

Two more lamps belong to the same family is a pendant lamp and a sconce 379931. The technics of their manufacturing is not so refined, but all the same, they produce very pleasant impression. Polished metal with the wavy asymmetric edge, bent like a reflector, focuses light on the threads covered with cubic crystals by Swarovski.

Lamps that have the built in movement sensors that are switched on and off in the presence of a person, are known already. Nevertheless, the majority of people who face this theme, such lamps are associated with cheap production of mainly Chinese manufacture. In this connection the results, as a rule, are not impressing at all: the sensors work unreliably, react to natural light, it is possible to force them to work, having lighted them with the help of a usual small lamp, they start to switch on the illumination in the afternoon when it is useless. All it leads to the belief that such lamps with sensor controls are just toys that are not suitable to perform more or less serious problems.

Today I am glad to present to you a German light factory Steinel which is capable to deny this bias. Sensor lamps by Steinel are developed on the basis of gauges and sensors that are successfully delivered to Steinel by professional security systems, the manufacture is located completely in Europe. The experience of the company allows to regulate lamps under concrete conditions. Clever lamps by Steinel, for example, consider the background light exposure of a surrounding premise.

Now it is necessary to add that Steinel are the pioneers and permanent leaders in the market of lamps with movement sensors. Besides, lamps by Steinel are of high quality of design, and are made from reliable and qualitative materials - stainless steel and glass. The sensors on these lamps are invisible or are an organic part of the design.

Metal petal
A sconce that is called Eurialo looks very simple but provokes mixed associations. It is very similar to the fashionable fastener which has unexpectedly appeared on a wall. The sconce is presented in two colours. The “petal” is made so that it can cover a light source from different directions and, so, powerful light will not be extremely bright.

A table lamp Tolomeo Micro is a continuation of a popular series of table lamps and floor lamps Tolomeo. The progress dictates new conditions, and Artemide is the first who picks up new trends. So that a popular series of lamps has also extended at the expense of a new table lamp.

Luxerion by Artemide is another series of lamps that are very popular today. The interest to these lamps is clear – the factory has made a rather courageous experiment, having added to the lamps the function of air cleaner. And, probably, it was done in order to justify the prefix Lux in the name. Only the well-known designers were invited to create the design of these lamps. Four extremely interesting objects appeared:

The pendant lamp AZIO is remarkable due to the fact that its design was developed by Karim Rashid. The deftactor is made from glass. However, character of this lamp is intimate.

The pendant lamp FARSALO by Michele De Lucchi is very close to a Rashid’s. The light is even more intimate and warm.

The lamp FILIPPI by Alessandro Pedretti Studio Rota and Partners is very similar or even indistinguishable from AZIO by the charactristics.

And, at last, I am glad to present TIAN XIA AIR. This lamp is a cylinder that is made from from transparent thermoplastic. If the previous lamps gave, basically, two kinds of light – direct and reflected – that Tian Xia Air represents almost all kinds – and direct, reflected, disseminated and directed. And, not only white, but also colour.
